It is with great sadness that Meifod Community Council notes the recent death of the Council's Chair, Councillor Joy Sisley after a long illness bourne with the courage and optimism which were so characteristic of her nature. Her unstinting work for the Council and for many other community organizations was remarkable and she will be sorely missed. The Council wishes to extend deepest condolences to Joy's family and friends.
The Annual Meeting of the Council was held on June 3rd 2026. Cllr James Morris was elected as Chair with Cllr Jen Ellis elected as Vice Chair. The Chair paid a fitting tribute to the late Chair, Cllr Joy Sisley, who has sadly passed away. It was also resolved to appoint Cllr Alan Williams and Deputy Vice Chair who could then chair meetings shoud need arise.
